LAHORE: Former prime minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday emphasised that the upcoming elections on February 8 are not ordinary, calling on the people to cast their votes with renewed passion to save the country as it faces some existential issues.
The PML-N president emphasized, “We have to fight poverty, illiteracy, and unemployment,” when addressing workers in Sheikhupura. Whether the nation is rich in oil or not doesn’t matter; our young people are gifted and capable of guiding the nation through any crisis.
He said, calling the approaching election “extremely crucial,” adding, “We have not taught the kids hatred and abuse. People will have to choose on election day between those who have sincerely served the nation and those who have attacked and undermined the government.
The PML-N, which was suffering from up to 20 hours of power outages, ended loadshedding in the nation under the direction and control of its Quaid Nawaz Sharif. Nawaz Sharif was the one who battled terrorism, ended it, and restored peace to people’s lives. In addition to ensuring free medical care, he established organizations like the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute (PKLI), provided computers to young people, and enhanced services in all government hospitals. The former prime minister promised to serve the people even better if given another chance to lead the nation.
Reviewing the brutality on May 9, Shehbaz Sharif depicted it as a tragic day. It was a day when saints were offended, and state images were gone after. Pakistan’s relations with all adjoining and other significant nations on the planet were destroyed, he added. “On final voting day, citizens need to conclude who ought to lead this country.”
He said that Nawaz Sharif didn’t request that his adherents assault state establishments when his little girl (Maryam Nawaz) was captured. “During our 18-month rule, numerous difficult choices were made to save the state,” Shehbaz Sharif said, adding that in spite of admonitions from companions that these choices could affect the appointive legislative issues of the PML-N, “we continued to save the state at the expense of our legislative issues”.
